Ni Una Menos:
This podcast is about machismo and a movement called “Ni Una Menos”, which translates into “Not One Left” in Argentina.
This movement was born in 2015 as an answer to femicides and the misogynist culture of Argentina. The word machismo goes deeper than the word misogyny, in the sense that it effects gender representation in the media, and induces stereotypes about women and their image.
The first section of the podcast reveals how femicides are on an increase in Argentina, where one woman dies every 18 hours as a result of gender violence. The second part illustrates the machista culture and how it naturalizes violence against women. The third and the last digs deeper into the NiUnaMenos movement and a specific march in 2016.
